The AM Lodge has two(2) exciting vacancies for General Maintenance to commence duties as soon as possible. The position entails performing general maintenance and is responsible for looking after electrical appliances, plumbing and the general cleaning tasks of the workplace.
Duties and responsibilities
Inspects and identifies equipment or machines in need of repair.
Troubleshoot issues to determine necessary repairs.
Plan repair work using building blueprints or equipment manual as needed.
Be able to perform plumbing and electrical duties.
Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include repairing drywall, painting, and repairing doors and other building fixtures.
Perform installations, assembling, fittings, repairs, and replacements as needed.
Perform maintenance tasks like fixing broken furniture, changing the light bulb, and inspecting faulty appliances or equipment.
Handle emergency maintenances and repair works.Do garden/yard upkeep by mowing lawn, collecting trash etc.
Maintain complete records of daily maintenance activities by cleaning and assists with the upkeep of the facilities at the Lodge and other areas required.
Ensure the plants are watered and trimmed.
Assist with orders for supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
Report to a facilities or maintenance manager for issues
Performs other related duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school, diploma, or equivalent qualification in maintenance/plumbing or electricity required.
On-the-job training offered.
First Aid level 1,2 &3
Minimum 2 -3 years of related experience preferred in a 5-star lodge or Big 5 reserve within a similar lodge environment,
Ability to follow manuals and instructions from supervisors or maintenance Managers.
Must have at least 2 – 3year’s experience as a technician, electrician, plumber, carpentry, or related fields.
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
